Lesson 1

You can master almost anything in fifteen minutes a day is you do it long enough.

Righteousness is God’s way of doing things and how He wants it done.

When God looks at man He sees Jesus because you are in Jesus and He is in us.

In Vine 1133 (Greek): diakiosum (righteous) means the character of or quality of being right or just.

We are the righteousness of God.

Matthew 3:13-15 ‘Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. 14 And John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?”

15 But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him.’

Matthew 6:33  “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. “

Romans 1:17  “For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

Romans 3:22  “even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference;”  (the righteousness of faith)

Colossians 1:27  “To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which[a] is Christ in you, the hope of glory. (the glory of God in us)

Romans 4:3  “For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”  (Belief in God imputes righteousness)

Romans 5:17-21  “For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.  18 Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. 19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous. 20 Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, 21 so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

(Righteousness came through Jesus.  Adam made sinners, Jesus made the righteous.)

2 Peter 1:2  “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, “

Grace reigns through righteousness, and righteousness gives us access to it through grace.

2 Corinthians 5:21  “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Righteousness gives the believer the ability to stand in the presence of the Father God without the sins of guilt and inferiority.

Righteousness does not come to us in varying degrees.   Righteousness does not come and go as the tides of the ocean. To many people, righteousness is a goal to reach toward rather than a reality to accept and enjoy.  Picture yourself righteous through the Word.

James 1: 22-25  “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”

The true mirror is the Word of God that gives a reflection of who we are and what we are made to be – God’s Righteousness.
